Outdoor Adventure Opportunities

Support, Inc. believes that no one should be excluded from the joy of adventure and the friendships and memories that stem from them.  Our BACPAC program enables people with developmental disabilities to share in the experience of travel and enjoy the wonders of the world firsthand by moving beyond day-to-day life to exploring the outdoors on specially staffed and adapted vacations.   Our programs provide experiences that are meant to inspire personal growth, instill confidence, develop peer relationships, and expand self-esteem by emphasizing each individual’s abilities. The programs all-inclusive design makes travel easy. Trips are all pre-staffed by medication certified providers that are all inclusive in cost of activity fees, meals, accommodations, transportation, and staff cost. Our vacation adventures include everything from camping trips for those who enjoy the outdoors, to regional destinations and events that delight the senses. All trips are designed to allow participants the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature firsthand. From day trips to overnight adventures there is surely something to fit everyone’s interests and budgets.

Trip Design

The character of each trip reflects the specific needs of the individual participants. Adventure trips involve motivational activities which help participants put barriers aside and experience what they never dreamed possible. Trips range from the typical outdoor adventures (day hikes) to the unusual (dog sledding) All trips are designed to allow participants the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature firsthand.

Goal Setting

Personal goal setting is an integral part of the outdoor adventure. Staff work with participants to develop goals which are challenging, yet attainable and fun. Progress in achieving these goals is documented and presented to the individual along with a certificate of completion.

Trip Costs

The cost for an adventure trip vary depending on the specific nature and length of a trip. The fee for the trip is paid by the participant and typically includes: transportation; camping and permit fees; equipment purchase/rental; food; miscellaneous external costs.
