July Family Caregiver of the Month!

We want to congratulate Shannon Wanebo for being nominated as our July Family Caregiver of the Month!!! Her son, Patrick, has been receiving services with Support Inc. for about 3 years. With his highly energetic personality, Patrick spreads joy everywhere he goes. He loves to introduce himself to new faces with a handshake and hello. He can make just about anyone laugh, often brightening up the whole room. Patrick just hit a huge milestone, turning 21!

Patrick has Fragile X Syndrome, which presents challenges too. It can be overwhelming navigating the ins and outs of daily life. Patrick often looks to his mom Shannon for support. She is a wonderful caretaker and a strong advocate for Patrick. Whether it’s ensuring he gets the care he needs, signing him up for the best-fit programs, or helping him navigate through life each day, Shannon is an exemplary Family Caregiver and mom!

When Patrick was a little kid, Shannon signed him up for swimming. Now, it’s become one of his favorite hobbies. He’s made lots of friends and loves the community. Plus, he’s gotten really good at swimming! Over the summer, he participated in a swim meet for Special Olympics and he won 3rd place in Freestyle!

We are so proud to share in the journey with Patrick and Shannon! None of this would be possible without the amazing care and love that Shannon provides. Congratulations, Shannon on being named the July Family Caregiver of the month and thank you for all that you do!!!

Quality Assurance News & Updates

During July we focus on fire preparedness. Colorado is hot and dry this time of year and it’s common to see wildfires in our state. It’s important everyone be fire aware and be prepared. For more information on how you can prepare for wildfires follow this link.

A great way to stay alert is to ensure you have signed up to receive emergency alerts. Each county has an emergency notification system. However, you are not automatically signed up for alerts and must opt in to these notifications. Some counties have switched notification platforms, and you may no longer be signed up to receive alerts. We encourage everyone to sign up for or check that you are signed up for emergency alerts in your area. See links below.
