Caregiver of the Month!

We would like to congratulate and acknowledge, Arlene Low, as our November Family Caregiver of the Month! The below information was provided by Support Inc., Residential Coordinator, Lisa.

“For as long as I can remember, Arlene has been an exemplary caregiver. As a caretaker, Arlene advocates fully for her daughter. She goes the extra mile to make sure her quality of life is high and everything is taken care of. No matter how many appointments, visits, or rides are needed, she makes it happen. Through it all, Arlene is very kind, yet very strong. Each home visit with her inspires me to be the same. She is excellent at getting things done efficiently and effectively. When life gets tough, Arlene finds a way to make it work. Through medical situations and many different life challenges, she has never complained. She takes care of her loved ones, always. We appreciate everything that you do, Arlene! Congratulations on being nominated as our November Family Caregiver of the Month and thank you for all that you do!!!”

Therap MAR Changes!

Changes to the Therap MAR coming December 1st, 2025!

To all staff, providers and families,

In this communication we will cover the following:

  1. Upcoming changes to the Therap MAR
  2. Highlights of the new Therap daily MAR
  3. Training resources on the new Therap daily MAR

Upcoming changes to the Therap MAR

Therap will be transitioning to a new MAR layout starting December 1st, 2025. You may have noticed a message on your Therap MAR indicating the legacy (current) MAR will become read only at the end of the month as Therap makes the transition to the new daily MAR. Therap’s daily MAR is designed to make it easier and faster for people logging medications.

Starting December 1st, Therap will require users to use the daily MAR, users will no longer have access to document on the current monthly view. To make the transition to the daily MAR as smooth as possible, please ensure you have all medication logged for the month by the end of the day on November 30th. While you can still back log medication administration on December 1st, having the MAR caught up will make a smoother transition to the Daily MAR.

Highlights of the new Therap daily MAR:

  1. Integrated controlled drug counts:
    • Controlled drug counts are now integrated on the medication administration line; you will no longer have to log them under PRN treatments.
  2. PRN follow up schedules:
    • When administering PRN medications, you will be able to schedule follow up. The daily MAR will then prompt you to follow up on the medication to indicate its effectiveness as required in QMAP regulations.
  3. Required documentation window:
  • While medications should be logged at the time they are administered, following QMAP rules, we understand that at times the internet goes down, or you may be away from the home.
    1. With the new Daily MAR, if youlog meds within the 2-hour administration window (1 hour before/ after the scheduled time slot) you will be able to use the quick entry feature. Quick entry is a new feature which allows you to log all medications for a given administration time at one time vs having to select each medication as administered.
  1. If you log medications outside of the administration window AND it’s within 24-hour documentation windowyou can log the MAR by detailed entry.  This is similar to the current MAR where you have to click on each medication to log as administered.
  • If you log medications outside of the 24-hour documentation window, you can still log the medications in detail mode BUT the system will require you to put a comment on each medication indicating why the medications were logged outside the documentation window.

***The documentation window is required by Therap and they do not allow agencies to have a documentation window that is over 24-hours.

  1. Quick entry to bulk record data:
    • On the daily MAR, you will be able to quickly log all medications for that administration time by using the new ‘quick entry’. Additionally, you will have the ability to bulk record leave of absence (LOA) for times the person is away.
