Host Home Provider of the Month

We’d like to acknowledge and congratulate our March Host Home Provider of the Month- Lubna Yazdani! Sometimes the relationship between a provider and the person they are caring for is just what each one unknowingly needed. Lubna Yazdani became Roby’s Host Home Provider during a very painful time in Roby’s life. Lubna has worked diligently, learning Therap and caring patiently for Roby through some very difficult adjustments. It was a rough couple of months, but Lubna’s loving kindness has fostered a closeness and healing for Roby. They take frequent outings to the park to feed the ducks in the sunshine and go to restaurants and try new food. Roby is happy and is once again full of smiles. Lubna loves spending time with Roby and is getting more exercise than she has in years! They are wonderful companions to each other, and we’re so happy we get to be a part of it. Congratulations, Lubna, on being named the March Host Home Provider of the Month!! Thank you for all that you do.

Operations News & Updates

Hello and Season’s Greetings from the Operations Team. As the year comes to a close, if you’re like us, the holiday season is a time to reflect on the year that was and start setting goals for the year to be. It’s a time to celebrate our accomplishments, be thankful for our blessings, remember those we lost, and look forward to the new year. In whatever way you are connected to the Support, Inc. family, we appreciate you and look forward to taking on new things with you and on your behalf in 2024. Finance Department News & Updates

The Finance Department

Greetings from the Finance Department. We are excited to introduce some new team members, provide an update on Bill.com, an update on HHP payments, and some year-end reminders.

New Team Members

We have three new team members to introduce. Please welcome Matt Kelso, Chief Financial Officer, Kellee Abbott, Controller, and Vicki Stroud, Sr. Director, Human Resources.

Matt joined Support, Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer in August 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA with concentrations in corporate finance and strategy from the Southern Methodist University.  In his spare time, he chauffeurs his 10-year-old to soccer and football practice as well as his 14-year-old high school cheerleader. When he actually does get alone time, you’ll usually find him at his grill cooking steaks and seafood while watching Dallas area sports teams.

Kellee joined Support, Inc. as the Controller in October 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant. Kellee enjoys family time with her husband of 26 years and her three daughters, ages 22, 17, and 15. She loves watching sports, going to the movies, reading, and good restaurants.

Vicki joined Support, Inc. on November 6th, 2023, as Sr. Director, Human Resources. She is happy and excited to join the team.  Prior to joining Support, Inc. she served as the Sr. Director, Human Resources at HealthSmart, a Third-Party Administrator. Vicki was with HealthSmart for 25 + years and held many different positions within HR during her tenure there to include overseeing their Benefits and Payroll.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband of 25 years and hosting family holiday events.

Bill.com: Fully Implemented

This March we successfully transitioned our payment processing to Bill.com, an accounts payable automation software. Bill.com has allowed us to get more clarity, security, and personalization with the payments we process. Payees have more control over how they are paid – they can update banking information, and address, or contact information we have on file in real time. Additionally, it enables payees to see what invoices we have processed, are currently processing, and have not yet received.

For help setting up and accessing your payee account, e-mail us at accountspayable@supportinc.com.

Updates on Moving Provider Payments to ADP:

We are still focused on moving the payment method for our Host Home Providers into ADP. HHPs have transitioned to a bi-weekly pay schedule, receiving payment for their services more frequently and accurately.  We continue to work closely with our HR team and the ADP developers to finalize the ADP platform. Our commitment is to make sure all of your information is correct, and the implementation is as smooth and seamless as possible.

More on HHP Bi-Weekly Pay:

Below is a 2024 pay schedule for HHPs. The first two dates indicate the date range within the pay period. The third date is when funds are directly deposited into bank accounts.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the most efficient way to receive payment from us is to sign up for ACH (or direct deposit). Please note that if you are set up for physical checks rather than direct deposit you are subject to the processing times of the US Postal Service impacting when your check arrives. Again, we encourage everyone to sign up for ACH (or direct deposit)

If this schedule is still unclear, please e-mail us at accountspayable@supportinc.com where we will be happy to respond to your questions and requests.

Year-End Reminders

As we are headed towards the end of the year, employees are reminded that should they need to make changes to their tax withholding election, address, or direct deposit information, they can do so directly in ADP workforce or through the self-service app.  It is important to keep your addresses updated in ADP, and in The Standard (if you have a 401K or ROTH account) since they send the necessary year end information at the end of the year.

In the Spirit of Gratitude:

We, the Finance Team, want to give a big thank you to all our Department Teammates, Support Leadership, Directors, Associate Directors, Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, Providers and Caregivers. We are so grateful to each one of you for partnering with us.  We appreciate your patience as we encounter challenges that arise from the implementation and integration of new systems.  As part of the Support Family, you have our commitment to bring you the best customer service possible.

Host Home Provider of the Month!

Please join us in congratulating our September Host Home Providers of the Month, Edna and Darryl Pennington! Edna and Darryl have been Host Home Providers since December 2022 for the Pueblo Community Resources team which is part of the Support Inc. network. Edna has been part of Pueblo Community Resources direct care staff team since the inception of the company! She took a couple of years off and returned with her trademark sweet smile and generous heart when she was needed the most. They started as HHPs with 2 gentlemen in an existing home environment and then accepted a third individual in services just a few months later. During this time, they have excelled as providers, learned to use our system while settling into a new home. They live a little bit out of town, but still drive the men to different day programs, work commitments, counseling, and numerous medical appointments. Darryl has become very involved in the Special Olympics program as all 3 men are heavily committed to their sports. Darryl enjoys volunteering his time as a coach and recently worked with a team that built a large float for the Colorado State Fair Parade. Their float was awarded 3rd place out of 160 participating floats (see picture below)! Both Edna and Darryl enjoy stopping by Pueblo Community Resources Day Program to help serve everyone on hot lunch days and to connect with the people there. They are a bright spot in everyone’s day. Edna and Darryl provide their individuals in services with a family home setting that exceeds expectations. They are the definition of “People Helping People” and go above and beyond to support our individuals in services. We are so proud to see the progress the three men have made in their care and are excited to see their bright future. This is all thanks to the hard work of this amazing couple. Congratulations and thank you for all that you do, Darryl and Edna!!!

Chris Receives his Colorado’s Drivers Permit!

We would like to congratulate person receiving services, Christopher Manley, on his recent success of obtaining his Colorado’s Drivers Permit! Chris has been studying very hard to reach this goal and recently passed his drivers permit test. You could truly see the great accomplishment in his smile the day he passed. He has taken on the privilege of being able to learn how to drive very seriously and respects the dangers of driving. Chris and Residential Coordinator, Nathan, have been out driving in his car to learn and Chris has done exceptionally well. He has caught on to handling the vehicle and applying proper pressure on break and gas pedal easily. He seems to feel comfortable behind the wheel and we believe he will be earning his driver’s license very soon with the progress he is making. Congratulations, Chris, and thank you to the Pueblo Community Resources team for supporting him to accomplish this goal!

Quality Assurance News & Updates

September 18-22 is Fall Prevention Awareness Week

Falls among older adults are common, preventable and are the leading cause of injury and/or death among those 65+. More than 95% of hip fractures are a result of a fall. Many falls are cause by environmental or lifestyle habits. Scheduling regular visits to healthcare providers and incorporating strength-building exercises into your weekly routine can reduce the risk of falls. Simple modifications to our home environment can also reduce fall risk.  This month, we encourage everyone to utilize the CDC’s Home Fall Prevention Checklist to identify potential fall hazards in your home. The checklist includes ways to fix the problem.

Additionally, the National Counsil on Aging (NCOA) has a Fall Prevention Conversation Guide for Caregivers as well as many other resources on their website.
