JD Attends Monster Jam!

Seldom do you see this young man without a smile, JD is one of the most joyful people you will ever meet. He is a curious, bright, sweet, and polite guy to everyone he meets. He works hard at his job and is the most proud, enthusiastic janitorial expert ever. He looks forward to sharing bits about his day at work with anyone who will listen. When the opportunity came along to add some extra excitement to his life, there was some mild hesitation as he is very rarely without his host home provider. They are the best bonded pair, but JD got to have a dream from TV come true, with a trip to see the monster trucks at Monster Jam. This was his first experience at a large venue and his first time taking in a show with this level of excitement and let’s face it… noise. He loved every second of it all!! The car trip to Colorado Springs, the pizza and souvenir cup, meeting the drivers, seeing the trucks up close, the noise from the fans, and then seeing the stunts and the times when trucks flipped over were some of the highlights of the day. His delight continued when the day wrapped up with a blended coffee drink topped with whipped cream. There is something amazing and so special about seeing someone experience new, thrilling events in life when they work so hard and are so deserving of great experiences like this. JD has overcome so many obstacles in his life with support from the ones who care most about him, he gets to shine and it’s the sweetest thing. Congratulations, JD, and thank you to the Pueblo Community Resources team for making this dream possible!

Finance Department News & Updates

The Finance Department

Greetings from the Finance Department. We are excited to introduce some new team members, provide an update on, an update on HHP payments, and some year-end reminders.

New Team Members

We have three new team members to introduce. Please welcome Matt Kelso, Chief Financial Officer, Kellee Abbott, Controller, and Vicki Stroud, Sr. Director, Human Resources.

Matt joined Support, Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer in August 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA with concentrations in corporate finance and strategy from the Southern Methodist University.  In his spare time, he chauffeurs his 10-year-old to soccer and football practice as well as his 14-year-old high school cheerleader. When he actually does get alone time, you’ll usually find him at his grill cooking steaks and seafood while watching Dallas area sports teams.

Kellee joined Support, Inc. as the Controller in October 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant. Kellee enjoys family time with her husband of 26 years and her three daughters, ages 22, 17, and 15. She loves watching sports, going to the movies, reading, and good restaurants.

Vicki joined Support, Inc. on November 6th, 2023, as Sr. Director, Human Resources. She is happy and excited to join the team.  Prior to joining Support, Inc. she served as the Sr. Director, Human Resources at HealthSmart, a Third-Party Administrator. Vicki was with HealthSmart for 25 + years and held many different positions within HR during her tenure there to include overseeing their Benefits and Payroll.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband of 25 years and hosting family holiday events. Fully Implemented

This March we successfully transitioned our payment processing to, an accounts payable automation software. has allowed us to get more clarity, security, and personalization with the payments we process. Payees have more control over how they are paid – they can update banking information, and address, or contact information we have on file in real time. Additionally, it enables payees to see what invoices we have processed, are currently processing, and have not yet received.

Updates on Moving Provider Payments to ADP:

We are still focused on moving the payment method for our Host Home Providers into ADP. HHPs have transitioned to a bi-weekly pay schedule, receiving payment for their services more frequently and accurately.  We continue to work closely with our HR team and the ADP developers to finalize the ADP platform. Our commitment is to make sure all of your information is correct, and the implementation is as smooth and seamless as possible.

More on HHP Bi-Weekly Pay:

Below is a 2024 pay schedule for HHPs. The first two dates indicate the date range within the pay period. The third date is when funds are directly deposited into bank accounts.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the most efficient way to receive payment from us is to sign up for ACH (or direct deposit). Please note that if you are set up for physical checks rather than direct deposit you are subject to the processing times of the US Postal Service impacting when your check arrives. Again, we encourage everyone to sign up for ACH (or direct deposit)

If this schedule is still unclear, please e-mail us at where we will be happy to respond to your questions and requests.

Year-End Reminders

As we are headed towards the end of the year, employees are reminded that should they need to make changes to their tax withholding election, address, or direct deposit information, they can do so directly in ADP workforce or through the self-service app.  It is important to keep your addresses updated in ADP, and in The Standard (if you have a 401K or ROTH account) since they send the necessary year end information at the end of the year.

In the Spirit of Gratitude:

We, the Finance Team, want to give a big thank you to all our Department Teammates, Support Leadership, Directors, Associate Directors, Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, Providers and Caregivers. We are so grateful to each one of you for partnering with us.  We appreciate your patience as we encounter challenges that arise from the implementation and integration of new systems.  As part of the Support Family, you have our commitment to bring you the best customer service possible.

Quality Assurance News & Updates

Be entered to win a $100 gift card for giving us your feedback!

It’s that time of year when we ask for your anonymous feedback about how we are doing. Our Family Caregiver and Host Home Provider satisfaction surveys are now open. On an annual basis we conduct satisfaction surveys for our providers. This information is used to implement solutions that will improve communication, stakeholder relationships, and quality of care. Survey outcomes are reviewed across the organization, a response plan is developed and communicated through the strategic planning process.

Check your email for a link to this year’s satisfaction survey. If you need a link, contact your Residential Program Coordinator or Laura Viers, Associate Director of Quality Assurance at

Recent News

Ashley and Lydia go to Florida!

We want to highlight a great story involving one of our Host Home Providers, Lydia, and an individual in our services, Ashley. Both of them took a trip together to Florida this past April. This was a first for both of them. Lydia and Ashley went on boat rides, had beach days, and took a tour of Miami on a double decker bus! They both expressed having an amazing time and they are looking forward to their next vacation!! This is a phenomenal example of great, innovative community-based services.

Provider Pay Day For May: Important Information and Updates

We know that routines like Host Home Provider pay day can be confusing with all of the current shutdowns. In an effort to honor the government requests for social distancing as well as our client’s fragile health, we will be mailing Host Home checks this month. Repeat, we are not handing checks out to any HHP, nor will anyone be able to pick them up at any office. HHP checks will be placed in the mail on Friday, April 24th. The intent is that Host Homes will receive the checks on or before May 1st. Providers may cash the checks as early as April 30th but remember the bank will reject any checks presented before April 30th.

We are aware that some HHP paychecks may be incorrect due to early check printing. We want to assure you that we will issue (and mail) corrections immediately when notified for any under payments and that we will reduce next month’s payments for any over payments.

We also want to let you know that we are mailing client personal needs funds (both cash and checks) along with bus passes too.

One final reminder, we are not sending bus passes this month because we mailed the passes to providers with the last pay day.  We do not intend to send bus passes until the Access-A-Ride services are up and running for a full month.

We will be available if you have any questions. And thank you for bearing with us while we navigate new routines and solutions together.
